Search is on for next T-J Star

12/8/2023

It’s been 30 years since we were on the hunt for the first-ever Times-Journal Star, an honor that went to John Elkan of Cobleskill for his involvement in everything from the Cobleskill Rotary to Literacy volunteers.
So much has changed since January 6, 1993—man, have things changed:
In that issue of the Times-Journal, the Park Theater was showing “Home Alone 2,” Karen and Wesley Tucker of Sharon Springs welcomed 7 pound, 9 ounce Wesley Howard Tucker, the first baby of ’93; and Cobleskill and Richmondville were just beginning merger studies.
What hasn’t changed is the qualifications for the T-J Star: someone who’s positively impacted the community, especially over the past year.
We need your help and your nominations. Tell us who deserves this year’s honor.
Deadline for nominations is 5pm, Wednesday, December 20.
• Email them to tjournalnews@yahoo.com and put TJ Star in the subject line.
• Call them in, (518) 234-2515.
• Fax them, (518) 234-7898.
• Or mail them to: Times-Journal, PO Box 339, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
Nominations should include the name of the person being nominated and why he or she deserves to be the next T-J Star.
We also need the name of the person doing the nominating as well as their contact information in case we have questions or want more information.
