Soup to warm the heart and soul will be front and center in Cobleskill next month.
Cobleskill Partnership Inc., the downtown improvement group, is hosting its first ‘Soup Stroll,’ which will feature soup from eight restaurants on March 9, 11:30am-3:30pm.
Taking part are Brick House Bakery, Bull’s Head Inn, Chieftans, Locomotions, Tagua Nut, JoJo’s, Pizza Shack and Cowboy’s Taqueria.
For an advance ticket of $10, people can get a cup of soup at any and all restaurants; $10 covers all the stops.
People can show their ticket at each restaurant, and if they go to four or more, they qualify for a drawing for $100 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice.
“It’s something new and different for CPI,” said Bruce Tryon, who chairs the organization’s Events Committee.
“Restaurants are excited about it, and we want to show off local businesses.”
With more people downtown, CPI is encouraging non-restaurant businesses to offer specials on the 9th.
People can buy a ticket at CPI’s website, Cobleskill Partnership.com, and then pick up the ticket at a booth at the Community Plaza at the corner of Main and Division streets on the 9th. Tickets bought that day will cost $15.
Proceeds will go to CPI improvement projects and also the Cobleskill-Richmondville backpack program.
