Marathon steps off Saturday at college
6/5/2024 |
The Marathon for a Better Life will step out to help Schoharie County cancer patients this Saturday at SUNY Cobleskill.
Held on the college track, the opening ceremonies will feature college President Marion Terenzio as the guest speaker at 10am.
The SCS Leading Tones will perform the National Anthem, and the presentation of Angel Awards will follow.
Cancer survivors will start the first lap around the track, and caregivers will do the second before walking teams take over.
There will be local vendors, a farmers’ market, raffles, pickleball tournament, children’s activities and more.
Brian Garreau will be the DJ, and bands through the day will be Matt Vroman, Becca Frame, Tony Hall and Scattered Flurries.
There will be a cruise-in for cancer care, a car show, in memory of Jeffrey Morissette, in Suffolk Circle.
A luminary lighting at dusk will conclude the Marathon.
