SCCA fishing derby a hit with kids

Kids hit Cobleskill’s Dow Reservoir and the Holding Pond Saturday for the Schoharie County Conservation Association’s fishing derby.
Helped by parents and SCCA members, the young anglers went after bass, perch and panfish.
Thirty-one kids registered, and they caught more than 100 fish.
Helping SCCA as sponsors were Laborers’ Local 157 from Schenctady, Stewart’s Shop[s in Cobleskill, Cobleskill Outdoor Sports, Gobbler’s Knob, NAPA in Middleburgh, Burger King, McDonald’s, Walmart and Off the Beaten Path in Central Bridge.
Listed from first to third, winners in the 9am-11am time slot were:
•Bass, Vinnie Mercoglan, who was the only one to enter a bass.
•Perch, Jaden Linger, Tucker Kilbacker and Perry Shaul IV.
•Panfish, Hunter Allen, Elliana Largesse and Arthur Klug.
In the 11am-1pm time slot, first to third:
•Bass, Lane Smith, Madeline Porter and Vinnie Mercoglan.
•Perch, Elliana Largesse and Madeline Porter.
•Panfish, Perry Shaul IV, Anabelle Clotman and Caden Underwood.
All the winners received prizes after the derby.
