Thanksgiving Dinner Committee seeks drivers
11/1/2024 |
If you want to help with 700 Thanksgiving dinners, read on.
The Thanksgiving Dinner Delivery program is looking for drivers to deliver on Thanksgiving Day.
The all-volunteer committee is also looking for donations to help fund the annual holiday meal.
The committee used to organize a sit-down dinner for whoever wanted; now, meals are all delivered to homes––700 of them all across Schoharie County.
Committee member Colleen Flynn of the county Office of Emergency Services (OES) said at least three more drivers are needed to deliver meals on Thanksgiving Day.
The meals are prepared in the kitchen at the Schoharie County Jail, and drivers head out from there.
Anyone interested in driving should call Ms. Flynn at (518) 944-1284.
Anyone interested in donating can write a check to the Thanksgiving Dinner Committee and send it to the Thanksgiving Dinner Committee, c/o Schoharie County OES, 2783 State Route 7, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
