SEEC launches 2nd Curb Appeal help

The Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corp. is kicking off its 2025 locally-funded grant initiative, SEEC Placemaking: Curb Appeal Program.
Deadline for applications is March 2 with awards announced by the end of March.
SEEC will host an informational Zoom session on Curb Appeal on Tuesday, January 28.
Applications are available online; project completion should be slated for December 2025.

In 2024 program, SEEC awarded $175,329 to 11 projects in seven communities; recipients painted storefronts, upgraded windows, improved signage, added porches and landscaping and more.
Project sites included: Jefferson Art Room, Hewitt Building, Charlotteville General Store, Gallupville House, Iron Horse Tattoo, Green Wolf Brewing, Second Chance Retail, The Forget Me Not Soda Shoppe, Schoharie Mercantile, Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church and Lappeus Funeral Home.
“This overwhelming positive response underscores the program’s value, ensuring further investment and growth in 2025,” said Tom Putnam, SEEC chairman.
Commercial businesses and property owners located in the Village centers and hamlets are eligible with preference given to historic district improvements.
Grant awards are up to $5,000 and may include free design consultation.
The grant initiative is made possible by the Marge and Randy Becker Foundation, Sterling Insurance Company Foundation, Fenimore Asset Management and other private donors.
