The SUNY Institute for Local News announces up to 20 paid internships this summer for current SUNY students, including May 2025 graduates, to work in local newsrooms as a continuation of their studies. Internship applications are open now and due by May 1.
Interested students should have previous reporting experience through campus or community work.
Students are invited to partner with their own media destinations for the summer.
SUNY ILN can help find partnerships as needed.
Internships will earn up to $4,800 for 10 weeks and 300 hours of work.
It is a paid internship only. No credit hours or enrollment are required.
The internships are offered through SUNY along with the Empire State Development Corporation and the SUNY Research Foundation.
