T-J launches 2007 Star search

12/5/2007

After 16 years, we’ve exhausted every Christmas-y cliché in kicking off our Times-Journal Star search, so this year we’ll just tell like it is:
We want your nominations for the prestigious honor. Now. Or at least by the deadline, the end of the day, Saturday, December 22.
This is the 16th year for the award, which recognizes someone who’s influenced the community in a positive way over the past year.
Star nominations typically come from many fields and in particular, we encourage nominations for people who’ve done something over the past 12 months—not necessarily over a lifetime.
We’ll take nominations in a bunch of ways:
• Call them in, 234-2515.
• Fax them, 234-7898.
• Mail them to Patsy Nicosia, editor, Times-Journal, PO Box 339, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
• Email them to: tjournalnews@yahoo.com.
For every nomination, we need the reason the person deserves to be the 2007 Times-Journal Star along with a way to get a hold of you in case we need more information.
The next Star will be announced the first week of January.
