An organization called the Wind Power Education Project will host a forum and panel discussion on wind energy this Thursday, July 17, in the Bouck Hall Auditorium.
Registration and refreshments begin at 6:30; the event itself runs from 7-9 and will include a question and answer period.
The event is free and is one of a series of educational forums across New York State organized in a collaboration between Pace University Law School Energy Project, Citizens Campaign for the Environment, and the New York Public Interest Research Group.
“It’s in tended to be an honest dialogue about wind energy with plenty of good information,” said Emmett Pepper of the Citizens Campaign for the Environment.
Following a presentation by Mr. Pepper there will be a panel discussion by Assemblyman Pete Lopez, Matthew Brower of New York State Ag & Markets, and Valerie Strauss of The Alliance for Clean Energy New York.
In general, Mr. Pepper said, the Wind Power Education Project supports industrial wind “with a rigorous review process. There needs to be a review process and it’s important that it doesn’t get subverted.”
