Glorious garlic in Sharon

Garlic in all its glory took center stage in Sharon Springs Saturday and Sunday when the Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual, what else?, Garlic Festival.
Dozens of booths featuring garlic pickles, garlic chili, garlic dips, even garlic ice cream and fudge—along with just plain garlic—lined both sides of the Sharon Springs Central School driveway.
Other attractions included dinner served up by the Fire Department, friendly alpacas, and vendors selling handmade pottery, organic honeys, and even alpacas.
Inside the school were more than a dozen artisans as well as a book sale to benefit the Sharon Springs Free Library and displays and souvenirs by the Sharon Historical Society.
