Shady Tree Lane bridge meeting Tuesday

10/21/2008

The Schoharie County Department of Public Works will hold a public informational meeting on the proposed replacement of the Shady Tree Lane Bridge over Cobleskill Creek, at the Barnerville United Methodist Church Tuesday, October 28, at 7pm.
The county, in cooperation with Foit-Albert Associates, P.C., the New York State Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration, is developing design alternatives for the replacement of the bridge.
The project proposes to replace the structurally deficient bridge with a new structure that would provide a minimum service life of 75 years, eliminate or improve non-standard conditions in the safest and most economical methods, provide pedestrian access that complies with ADA Guidelines within the project limits, and provide safe bicycle access within the project limits.
The purpose of the meeting is to obtain comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, and officials and local agencies.
The county is specifically soliciting comments on the development of alternates for the project and comments on the project’s social, economic and environmental effects.
Further information on the project is available from Christopher C. Cornwell, P.E., 452-1037 ext. 318 or Thomas G. Fagnani, commissioner, Schoharie County Department of Public Works, 295-2330.
