Holiday Train rolls into Cobleskill

As hundreds waited, Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train blew into Cobleskill Saturday as part of its seven state, six province cross-country tour to raise food, money, and awareness for local food banks—and offer up some Christmas cheer.
This is the 10th anniversary of the Holiday Train, which this year features Canadian Country Music Hall of Famers Tracey Brown, Johnny Reid, and Shaun Verreault, Canadian live favorites Wide Mouth Mason, and Juno award-winning singer-songwriter Melanie Doane.
Santa was also onboard and kicked off Saturday’s half-hour show with a Christmas rap.
To date the Holiday Train has raised $3 million in cash and 1.6 million pounds of food for local food pantries.
Saturday, SCCAP’s Rebecca Thillet was on hand to accept a $1,000 check from CP’s Mike LoVecchio, money that’s especially needed this year, she said.
