Arts Council closes out the holidays

The holidays went out in style last week, thanks to the Tri-County Arts Council.
A traditional Twelfth Night celebration, complete with 15th Century dress and songs, closed out the season and also served as a fundraiser for the Arts Council.
Held at the American Hotel in Sharon Springs, Twelfth Night was hosted by the lord and lady of the manor, played by Dennis and Posie Shaw.
Through the evening, The Four Seasonings––Deborah Anderson, Paul Schultz, Elizabeth Van De Valk and Mark Eamer––performed songs of the season as they visited tables in the American’s main dining room.
All enjoyed a wassail toast, cheered a traditional boar’s head (not part of the actual meal) and joined The Four Seasonings in some of the songs.
Sandy and Jim Poole were random winners of a ring that designated them as royalty, and both received crowns to mark their stations.
