4th organizers looking for floats

6/10/2009

It’s the “don’t miss” event of the year in Schoharie County – the Schoharie County Fourth of July Celebration.
The theme for this year’s parade is, “An Old-Fashioned Fourth.”
Prizes will be awarded in five categories: Best float, best music, most old-fashioned, most original, and most patriotic.
The celebration led by Grand Marshall Assemblyman Pete Lopez, begins at 3pm with the parade from Campus Drive in Cobleskill down to the Fairgrounds.
This is a county-wide event and organizers are asking for parade participants from all over Schoharie County.
Events scheduled at the Fairgrounds immediately following the parade include food, games, bounce houses, carriage rides, music, square dancing and fireworks.
Anyone interested in participating in the parade can contact Maggie Jackman Pryor at 231-2076.
If you have questions about the activities at the fairgrounds, want to volunteer or are interested in exhibiting or selling, contact Jacqui Hauser at 657-1324.
