Rain drenches, doesn

Prompting some to joke it was only typical Fair weather, downpours Friday and again Sunday ushered in—but didn’t stop—the 133rd Sunshine Fair.
Though the storms and the mud that followed forced the cancellation of some events—like Friday’s harness racing—for the most part it just meant rescheduling or moving things around.
American Idol finalist Josh Gracin went on as planned Friday and crews were hard at work first-thing Friday—and again Monday—to get the ground back in shape.
Weather aside, directors said they’re pleased with the crowds the first-ever nine-day Fair has been drawing and pointed to the expanding Powers’ Great American Midway as one of the reasons.
Fair-goers—and exhibitors--aren’t letting a little thing like the weather stop them and espite the rain, most events have been going off as planned.
Coming up:
• Wednesday--Seniors Day. English horse show, rabbit and swine classes, Jimmy Beaumont & the Skyliners, demolition derby.
• Thursday--Gymkhana, baby contest, sheep show, T Bar T bull riding.
• Friday--Beef classes, Jr. Department all-animal costume parade, fireworks, Ernie Williams.
• Saturday--AQHA show, ATV drag racing, hay bale toss.
