T-J wants YOUR recipes

verything from soup to nuts: That’s what the Times-Journal is looking for in its annual Hometown Cooking edition this fall.
Hometown Cooking features recipes exclusively from readers and will be published on November 18.
“It’s one of our most popular special projects,” said T-J Publisher Jim Poole. “And we like it, too. We enjoy readers sharing treasured family recipes or just something they like cooking.”
A flyer in this week’s edition asks readers to submit recipes––no more than five apiece––and return the flyer by October 5.
Recipes can include appetizers, drinks and punch, breads, soups, casseroles and quiches, meat and fish, game, vegetables and side dishes, desserts and more.
And although Hometown Cooking will be out right before the holidays, it’s not focused on holiday cooking.
“They don’t have to be about Thanksgiving and Christmas,” Mr. Poole said. “Send in a barbecue recipe if you want.”
The flyer asks for a list of ingredients and instructions. The recipe must be clear and easy to read.
Readers should include a phone number––it won’t be published––in case there are questions.
