The Cobleskill Village Police are searching for three men who forced their way into an apartment on East Main Street and assaulted two people.
Police received a report from one of the occupants of one of the apartments inside 727 East Main Street at 2:48am last Monday that three men forced their way into his apartment.
Once inside, the men physically assaulted the man who called and his girlfriend, police said.
The man was struck several times and was taken by Cobleskill ambulance to Cobleskill Regional Hospital and was treated for multiple bruises and lacerations to his head and face and released, police said. The woman suffered a minor injury and was not transported or treated. No weapons are believed to have been used.
At this time, police said, the motive for the home invasion appears to have been to specifically assault the victims, who were not identified. There is no known association between the victims and the suspects.
Police said they have conflicting descriptions of the men, one or two of whom may have been dark-skinned.
Police are following up on several leads and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the incident to contact the police department at 234-2923.
