12th Night fun end to the season

Although the holidays may seem a foggy memory, they really ended just last Thursday.
That was the night the Tri-County Arts Council held its annual Twelfth Night celebration at the American Hotel in Sharon Springs.
The festivities, complete with 15th Century costumes and songs, closed out the season and also served as a fundraiser for the Arts Council.
Ron Cleeve and Jeanne Christiansen served as the lord and lady of the manor, welcoming guests as they arrived on the chilly evening.
Music was front and center, performed by The Four Seasonings––Paul Schultz, Elizabeth VanDeValk, Rachael Rys and Arts Council Executive Director Mark Eamer––throughout the evening.
To start the meal, Ms. Rys and Ms. VanDeValk carried a traditional boar’s head through the American’s dining room, though the boar wasn’t actually part of the meal.
A wassail toast was one of the highlights of the evening, as was the crowning of new royalty Tod and Diane Nicolai. Lord Ron and Lady Jeanne presented the crowns.
