M'burgh seeking mural artist

2/9/2010

The Village of Middleburgh is looking for a realist artist to undertake an outdoor public art project on a building façade in the village.
The village recently received a grant from the Tri-County Arts Council to undertake this project which will involve the painting of a mural depicting the history of the village. Initial sketch design work will begin this winter. Painting the mural is scheduled to begin late spring to be completed by August 31. Area artists are invited to apply.
A panel consisting of citizens, appointed by Mayor William Ansel-McCabe, will review resumes of applicants and examples of their work. The panel will then recommend an artist to the village board. Interested artists should contact Bill Morton at 827-4343 for further details by Friday, January 22.
