2/17/2010

The Chamber’s Annual Business Awards recognize business people in Schoharie County who have been successful in providing good products and services to clients and customers and who have consistently treated their employees and business associates in a fair and responsible manner.
Community involvement, stability, longevity, and advancement of the quality of life are other factors that are also given consideration.
2009 awards are going to the following:
• Business Person of the Year – Charles (Chuck) Finin, Mesa Tech.
• Business of the Year – Grapevine Farms, Tim & Tracey Purcell.
• Community Leader of the Year – Thomas Putnam, Fenimore Asset Management/ Fam Funds.
“Every year, the Business Awards Committee meets and has to make a decision as to who should receive the current award. We have so many people and businesses dedicated to this community that it becomes more and more difficult each year to determine the recipients. This year, these three people just grabbed the committee’s attention because of their substantial community involvement and the work they have done to advance the quality of life in Schoharie County,” said Anne Myers, president.
“The committee did an outstanding job once again and we thank them for their time and their well thought out recommendations of the above named award winners.”
The awards will be presented at the Chamber’s annual meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 25, at The Best Western in Cobleskill.
Reservations can be made by calling the Chamber Office at 827-3900.
