Worcester’s summer celebration is coming up Saturday, with the Schenevus-Worcester Rotary Club hosting a block party for the community.
The party will be right on Main Street, with events running from 3pm to 8pm.
A special event this year will be the dedication of Heritage Park at 3pm.
In the center of town, the park includes a gazebo, benches and patio area. It replaces part of the area destroyed by fire more than a decade ago.
Speakers for the dedication are expected to include Senator Jim Seward, according to Rotary President Lynda Clark.
The party gets started after that, with bands playing from start to finish:
•3:30, DiNero’s Game.
•4, LP’s Band.
•5, Buzztet.
•6-8, Borderline.
So that there are no breaks in the music, bands will alternate between playing at Heritage Park and in front of the Worcester Inn, Ms. Clark said.
D.J. Rob Wright will be on hand, and there will be tethered hot-air balloon rides, the National Guard’s rock-climbing wall and a bounce house.
The party will also feature games, including a dunking booth, plus crafts and vendors.
A number of groups will provide food, barbecue and refreshments.
“The weather forecast is good,” Ms. Clark said. “We’re holding out for good weather.”
