Fire damages Seward home

While others battle the smoke on a second-story landing, a Cobleskill firefighter chops a hole through the roof of the Rockwell home on Hill Road in Seward around 10am Tuesday morning.
A wood stove may have caused the blaze, but fire officials were unsure at press time.
Besides Cobleskill, departments from Richmondville, Sharon Springs and Carlisle were at the scene.
Strong winds and cold temperatures made fighting a number of fires around the region difficult; the American Red Cross asssisted families from several, including the one in Seward
