The Cobleskill Village Police Friday arrested a Central Bridge teenager on burglary charges after he allegedly entered a home on Clinton Circle.
Robert L. Mack III, 18, was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary, a Class C felony, after police said they investigated the report of a man entering a home at about 9pm.
The homeowner called 911 after she was startled by the man entering the home, police said.
Police said they believe that Mr. Mack intended to steal items from the home but was interrupted and fled the home when the homeowner confronted him.
Police said they tracked Mr. Mack’s shoe prints in the snow and, with the assistance of SUNY Cobleskill University Police officers, were able to locate Mr. Mack on North Grand Street a short time later. New York State Police also assisted in the investigation.
Mr. Mack was arraigned in village court and sent to jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond and was to return to court on December 21, police said.
