6 cited for Business Excellence
8/3/2011 |
For the sixth year in a row, the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce has named the winners of its Business Excellence Awards.
This year's winners are:
• Emerging Business of the Year, Jack Miller Tractor & Truck, Schoharie.
• Non-Profit Organization of the Year, Landis Arboretum, Esperance.
• Family-Owned Business of the Year, Scott and Kathy Kelley, Kelley Farm & Garden, Inc., Cobleskill.
• Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Andrew Noble, Noble Ace Hardware, Cobleskill.
• Woman-Owned Business of the Year, Angela Kogler, Upstate NY IT.
"The Chamber gives out three business awards each year at the annual meeting. These additional awards were initiated by the Chamber's Membership and Events and Activities Committees with the thought that these categories would pay tribute to the many other varied types of businesses that make up Schoharie County's economy,"
explained Georgia Van Dyke, board president.
In order to be considered, all candidates must be members in good standing of the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce, have been in business at least three years, demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices, have a commitment to employee support and development, and demonstrate corporate citizenship and/or community leadership including Chamber activities.
The awards will be presented at the Chamber's annual Summer BBQ Fundraiser, Wednesday, August 24, at The Olde Tater Barn, Central Bridge.
Tickets are available by calling the Chamber office at 827-3900.
