Bridge construction projects around the Cobleskill area are all running on schedule.
The Route 7 bridge in the Village of Cobleskill, the two bridges on the Warnerville Cutoff and the Clove Road bridge in Seward are in mid-construction or fairly close to completion.
Cobleskill's Route 7 bridge is scheduled to be finished September 6. The opened bridge would relieve a summer of detours around Cobleskill.
"We will meet the deadline. I guarantee it," said Chris Welsh, who's managing the project for Economy Paving.
"We'll do all we can to get it open before that."
The Clove Road bridge should also be open in September, according to Tom Fagnani, commissioner for the Schoharie County Department of Public Works.
DPW is building the abutments itself, and then a contractor will complete the bridge, Mr. Fagnani said.
Old bridge abutments interfered with the new ones, delaying the project slightly, he said.
"We're trying to get it done by school's opening," Mr. Fagnani said on Thursday. "It should be done within a month."
The county is also replacing the two bridges on the Warnerville Cutoff, one over West Creek and the other over Cobleskill Creek.
Both bridge projects are running smoothly, according to Joe DeMis, the county's deputy commissioner for engineering.
The Cutoff should be open by the end of November, Mr. Fagnani said.
