Christmas: It

Cobleskill, Sharon Springs and Richmondville will host holiday celebrations this weekend.
Festivities in Cobleskill and Sharon Springs are on Saturday; Richmondville's tree-lighting is on Sunday--and that's just the beginning. (See this week's Times-Journal for more events.)
Sponsored by Cobleskill Partnership Inc., Cobleskill's celebration begins at 5pm with a parade that will march from Campus Court to Centre Park.
At the park, Santa will help light the large tree and also the 30 trees, new this year, decorated by area businesses.
Santa will then go to Scholet's, where he'll meet with children on the porch. If the weather's bad, Santa will be inside Studio Fab near the park.
Boy and Girl Scouts and a group from SUNY Cobleskill will be caroling.
As a prelude to the downtown celebration, there will be a get-together for kids at the Cobleskill Firehouse.
Doors will open at 1:30, and there will be giftbags, crafts, face painting, cookies and drinks.
Then, Santa will arrive on the Marines' Toys for Tots train. The train is expected to arrive 2:45-3, and Marines will distribute toys.

Live music in the Roseboro will include Addy & the Twins at 11am and performances by Studio North dancers at noon and 1pm.
At 2pm, there will be a presentation of "Mistletoe Mustache," and at 2:15, Studio North will have an open rehearsal for a Victorian dance demonstration at 3.
Many other businesses will host talks and demonstrations about Victorian life, including food, medicine, decorations and more.

Prizes for the best Victorian costume and scavenger hunt winners will be presented at 204 Main Street Bar & Bistro at 4.
