Firefighters take woman out of burning home

An unresponsive woman was taken out of a burning Central Bridge home Tuesday morning.
Fire officials had no further information about the woman at press time.
Emergency personnel identified her as a 52-year-old woman who was unresponsive as she was being transported by ambulance to Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Central Bridge Fire Chief Scott Johnson said a call came into the county communications center at 8:43am.
When they arrived at 3240 Route 7, one half mile east of Wetsel Hollow Road, firefighters found a working structure fire with a heavy smoke condition, Chief Johnson said.
A search of the white, two-story wooden home yielded one victim who was taken to Cobleskill Regional, he said.
The woman was the only person in the home at the time of the fire, Chief Johnston said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Most of the fire was contained to the rear of the building, the Chief said. It also spread to the attic.
"We had a quick stop and confined it to the rear of the house," he said.
The woman was the only person in the home at the time of the fire, Chief Johnston said.
Firefighters from Central Bridge, Cobleskill, Schoharie, Esperance, and Middleburgh responded to the scene along with a fire assist and search team from Worcester.
Emergency personnel from the Scho-Wright, Cobleskill and Central Bridge ambulance squads also responded.
