1st Aggie Scott CROP Walk Sunday
5/2/2012 |
The 2012 Schoharie County Aggie Scott Memorial CROP Walk will kick off this Sunday, May 6, with registration starting at 1pm at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Washington Avenue and Elm Street, Cobleskill.
The actual 2.5 mile walk will begin at 1:30pm, rain or shine.
Participants can walk it twice if they want the traditional five-mile walk.
There will also be a half-mile Family Walk.
Crossing guards in CROP Walk vests will be posted at busy intersections and crosswalks.
Every walker turning in $10 or more will have their choice of a CROP Walk t-shirt or a reusable CROP Walk shopping bag.
Walkers submitting at least $250 the day of the walk will receive both.
The CROP Walk is an annual local fundraiser.
A quarter of all money raised remains in Schoharie County and is divided locally between the food pantries at the Cobleskill Methodist Church and Catholic Charities.
The remaining money is used to respond to emergencies both nationally and around the world.
For more information or walker packets, contact John Jarvis at 234-2933.
