Med Flight was requested and transported Mr. McDonnell to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
Troopers, with the assistance of an Environmental Conservation Police K-9 unit, located the driver of the car, Johnnie D. Brown III, 21, of Middleburgh, after a thorough search of the surrounding fields, police said.
Mr. Brown was charged with driving while intoxicated and numerous vehicle and traffic violations and further charges are pending, police said.
