Three teenage boys got lost on Vroman's Nose Sunday night but emerged unharmed.
The Sheriff's office said that at about 8:10pm, the Schoharie County Sheriff's office 911 center received a report of three teenagers lost on Vroman's Nose in the Town of Fulton.
The teens had apparently lost sight of the known trails on the mountain and got caught up in heavy underbrush, police said.
The three boys, all 16, were able to obtain cell phone coverage and contacted family. They were able to explain to family on the ground that though they could see the highway, they could not see how to get out.
Personnel from the Middleburgh Fire Department, MEVAC, and the state Forest Rangers were able to locate the boys about 40 minutes after the initial call and led them safely off the mountain.
The teens were unharmed and were reunited with family after they exited the woods, police said.
