Cobleskill ready to shake off winter

1/22/2013

Cobleskill will shake off winter's icy grip with two days of fun this weekend.
Cobleskill Partnership Inc. will sponsor its fourth Cabin Fever event, and for the first time, it's two days instead of one.
Festivities will be downtown from 10am to 2pm Saturday and at SUNY Cobleskill from 2pm to 5pm.
Events continue in the evening with "Nights Out"--one for grown-ups and one for kids. Various locations will offer a "Fun Day" on Sunday.
"Everything's really spread out around Cobleskill," said Jacqui Hauser, CPI's executive director.
Saturday's Downtown Family Fun includes crafts, food, sales and fun at The Studio for Art and Craft, Gee Dee's Place, Coby's, Head Start, Pizza Shack, Games A Plunder, Justine's, Catnap Books, Canine Cosmetician, Mary Jane Books, Backstreet Music, Harmony Acres, Zion Lutheran Church and The Community Library.
At the college in the afternoon, there will be snowlympics inside the track, sports activities in Bouck Gym, a concert by Dave Ruch in Bouck Theater and an all-you-can-eat dinner at Champlin Hall. The dinner runs 5-7pm.
Kids' Night Out will be at The Studio for Art and Craft, where there will be pizza, juice, dessert, crafts and a movie. Reservations are required.
Grown-Ups' Night Out offers specials at Coby's, Gee Dee's Place, Justine's, Pizza Shack and BW Delaney's at the Best Western.
On Sunday, there will be activities at Howe Caverns, The Studio for Art and Craft, bowling at the Best Western and Canine Cosmetician.
Tickets are required for Cabin Fever. To buy in advance and get a discount, go to The Studio for Art and Craft. On Saturday, full-price tickets will be available at The Studio, Justine's and SUNY Cobleskill.
