West Fulton man arrested on guns charges

The Cobleskill State Police arrested a West Fulton man on numerous weapons charges after executing a search warrant on his home and vehicle.
The search warrant were executed after information was developed that Roy C. Nicolai, 58, was in possession of long guns in violation of a Schoharie County Family Court order of protection, according to police.
The search warrant were executed at his home and a rifle and ammunition were recovered, police added.
He was located in the Village of Schoharie and police executed the search warrant on his vehicle and uncovered a second rifle and a cane sword, police said.
He was charged in the Town of Schoharie court with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the sword, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the rifle, and second-degree criminal contempt, according to police.
He was also charged in the Town of Fulton court with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the other rifle, and second-degree criminal contempt, police added.
Mr. Nicolai was arraigned in the Schoharie court and sent to jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $7,500 bond to return to court on October 21, police said.
