The woman was treated by Schoharie County EMS at the scene and transported to Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown by the Jefferson Rescue Squad, police added.
The dog was taken by the Richmondville dog control officer to an emergency vet clinic for treatment of serious wounds.
Both the woman and the dog are expected to recover from their injuries, according to police.
