2 arrested for Cobleskill meth lab

Two people were arrested last week on charges of making methamphetamine at a Cobleskill home.
Members of five police agencies participated in the execution of a search warrant after an investigation into the sale of controlled substances in the Cobleskill.
The search warrant was executed on Wednesday. The search resulted in the discovery of ingredients for, and components of, a portable methamphetamine production system, according to police. The evidence was secured and turned over to a hazardous waste hauler for disposal.
After the search, the Cobleskill Village Police arrested Christopher Clark Woods, 27, of Richmondville and Laura K. Kieru, 28, of Cobleskill.
The investigation revealed information that Mr. Woods was involved in the making of meth at Ms. Kieru's home.
Mr. Woods was arrested on charges of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a Class D felony, and being a fugitive of justice, according to police. Mr. Woods was found to be wanted by the Obion County Sheriff's office in Tennessee on charges of violation of probation for the crime of promotion of methamphetamine. He was sent to jail without bail.
Ms. Kieru was also arrested on charges of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine as well as fifth-degree conspiracy, a Class A misdemeanor, police said. She was sent to jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
They were both scheduled to return to Cobleskill town court on December 3 for further proceedings.
Additional charges are expected, police added, and the investigation is ongoing.
Members of the Cobleskill Village Police, the State Police Special Operations Response Team, the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, and State Police BCI members from Cobleskill and Princetown participated in the investigation and the search.
