Route 10 historians to remember snowstorms

On Sunday, January 26 the Route 10 Corridor Historians group will present a program on "Snowstorms Along the Route 10 Corridor."
Summit historian Karen Cuccinello has put together a slideshow using photographs of the big storms that affected towns from Summit to Bloomville over the past century.
Members of the community are invited to bring their own photos to be scanned, and to bring their recollections of snowstorm hardships and fun to share.
For local history enthusiasts, there will be several books available for sale, including "Schoharie County One Room Schoolhouses," "Murder & Funky Stuff in Schoharie County," "The Schoharie Alps: History of Summit, Schoharie County EMS" - all written by Karen Cuccinello.
Also, copies of James Meagley's new book, "Welcome to Hobart: Jewel of the West Branch," will be available.
The Jefferson Historical Society will have on hand tiles glazed with designs copied from 19th century stenciling in the Maple Museum, and other mementos.
The event will be held in the downstairs Senior Center in the George Danforth Community Center across the street from the Jefferson School on Route 10 at 2pm. Refreshments will be served.
