Chamber names Business Awards winners

2/26/2014

The Chamber's annual Business Awards recognize business people in Schoharie County who have been successful in providing good products and services to clients and customers and who have consistently treated their employees and business associates in a fair and reasonable manner.
Community involvement, stability, longevity, and advancement of the quality of life are other factors that are also given consideration.
This year's winners are:
•Business Person of the Year - Scott Kelley, Kelley Farm & Garden, Cobleskill.
•Business of the Year - Mill Services, Inc., Cobleskill.
•Community Leader of the Year - Judith McLaughlin, Schoharie County Child Development Council (Head Start).
"Every year, the Business Awards Committee meets and has to make a decision as to who should receive the current award. We have so many people and businesses dedicated to this community that it becomes more and more difficult each year to determine the recipients. This year, these three people just grabbed the committee's attention because of their significant community involvement and the work they have done to advance the quality of life in Schoharie County," said George Van Dyke, Chamber executive director.
"The committee did an outstanding job once again and we thank them for their time and their well thought out recommendations of these award winners."
The awards will be presented at the Chamber's annual meeting scheduled for Friday, March 28, at the Best Western in Cobleskill.
