T-J welcomes spring--sort of--with contests
3/26/2014 |
Even if the weather doesn't say so, spring is already a week old.
That means it's time for two of the Times-Journal's favorite contests.
"Find Peter Cottontail" offers spring cash for winners, and the T-J's annual Easter Coloring Contest has prizes for aspiring young artists.
In "Find Peter Cottontail," graphic artist Karen Slater hides three tiny rabbits in ads each week. Readers must find the rabbits and complete the entry form.
Sales Manager Kathy Rivenburg draws one entry at random from all those correct, and the winner gets $25.
The contest runs for four weeks, with a winner each week. At the end, Ms. Rivenburg draws a $100 prize winner from all the correct entries.
The coloring contest challenges artists from 4 to 10 years old to color an Easter drawing published every week. Kids can use crayons, paint, markers, pencils, cotton, sparkles--whatever they want--to complete the drawing.
There will be three winners in each of three age groups: 4-5, 6-7 and 8-10.
Entries must be in the T-J office by April 14.
Rules and an entry form for "Find Peter Cottontail are on page 6, and the coloring contest is on page 13.
