Residents to open homes to SALT, diners

4/8/2014

Schoharie Area Long Term, Inc. (SALT) announces that local flood-impacted residents and their neighbors will be opening their homes on Saturday, April 26, to host a range of multi-course dinners as part of Savor Schoharie: A Moveable Feast to raise money for ongoing flood-recovery efforts.
Guests are invited to start the evening with an international appetizer reception and raffle at the historic Schoharie Depot Lane Theatre at 5:30pm.
During the cocktail reception, they will be assigned to a host home for a meal with other surprise guests; they won't know the location until the night of the event.
Host dinner themes include: Northern Mexican, Classic American, German, Italian, Middle Eastern, Francais ala Schoharie, Traditional Polish, Greek Week, African Safari, Yucatan Cuisine, The Island Food of Vanuatu, Under the Tuscan Sun and American Cowboy. For more details on the menus visit SALTRecovery.org/SavorSchoharie
After dinner, all will gather together again at the historic home (and former tavern) of Bob and Arlene Price (5845 State Route 30 in Schoharie) to enjoy live music, coffee, dessert, and the close of the raffle to support SALT.
All of the host homes are located within 10 miles of the appetizer and dessert venues, making for easy and convenient travel between locations.
Tickets are limited to the number of seats in host homes, so call the SALT office today to order your ticket at 702-5017.
Tickets may also be purchased online at SALTRecovery.org/SavorSchoharie.
The last day to purchase tickets is April 11.
