Wright man arrested following stand-off

A Town of Wright man was arrested Wednesday following a domestic dispute and a three-hour armed standoff in Gallupville.
The Cobleskill State Police investigated a domestic dispute at about 6pm that occurred at the Dunkin' Donuts on Route 30A in the Town of Schoharie. An investigation revealed that a physical domestic dispute occurred after a victim ended a relationship.
Police said Jason M. Leslie, 35, left the scene before they arrived, but he was located shortly afterward at his home in Wright. There, armed with a .22-caliber rifle, he refused to cooperate with Troopers and barricaded himself in his home.
A perimeter was established, nearby homes were evacuated and a short portion of Route 146 in Gallupville was closed by Troopers, Sheriff's deputies and the Schoharie Fire Department, according to police.
After a three-hour standoff, Mr. Leslie peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody by the State Police. He was processed on charges of second-degree harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing, and third-degree criminal mischief, according to police. He was arraigned in the Town of Schoharie court and sent to jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $15,000 bond to return to court on April 21.
