Cops charge man after stand-off

A western New York man was arrested after a short stand-off on Hubb Shutts Road in the Town of Cobleskill early Wednesday morning.
At about 3:15am last Wednesday, the Schoharie County 911 center received a 911 hang up call, according to the Cobleskill State Police. A woman then called back and requested police for a fugitive in the home.
The caller did not know the address of the home and 911 was unable to obtain GPS coordinates from the call, police said. The caller was eventually able to provide 911 with the address of 256 Hubb Shutts Road, Cobleskill from a piece of mail.
The caller, police added, would not give much more information and eventually disconnected with dispatchers.
Troopers from Cobleskill and Princetown and members of the Schoharie County Sheriff's office responded to the home. Troopers attempted several times to make contact with the residents of the home without success. Police did notice movement in the house and established a perimeter, according to police. Crisis negotiators and the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team also responded to the scene.
At about 7:50am, crisis negotiators made contact with a woman inside the home. Three subjects, two women and one man, were directed to exit the building, police said.
Troopers detained the two women and they were later released, according to police. Police also detained Sean E. Hill, 33, of Mattydale.
Mr. Hill was arrested on charges of criminal obstruction of breathing, and unlawful imprisonment in the second-degree, both misdemeanors. He was also charged with a felony parole violation, police added.
He was arraigned in the Town of Cobleskill court and sent to jail, police said.
