NY Rising meeting Thursday for Fulton, Blenheim

early three years after Hurricane Irene, the Towns of Fulton and Blenheim will host a meeting to gather input on the state-sponsored NY Rising Reconstruction Program this Thursday, 6-8pm, at the Blenheim Firehouse.
NY Rising is a state effort helping storm-ravaged communities rebuild through planning help and financial assistance; Fulton and Blenheim were added to a half-dozen other local communities about six months ago in round two of funding.
Thursday's meeting will kick off a series of meetings to put together a plan prioritizing local needs, said Ralph Arrandale, who's chairing Blenheim's NY Rising Committee and was a member of Blenheim's FEMA-funded Long-Term Community Recovery Plan, completed in May 2012.
Mr. Arrandale said they roll the FEMA plan over into a NY Rising Plan, but by taking another look at the community's needs, he's hoping they find things they missed.
The public is invited to Thursday's meeting and all NY Rising Committee meetings.
Mr. Arrandale said the 12-member committee hopes to have a plan finalized by the end of the year.
