Times-Journal wants to know: What are you cooking?
9/30/2014 |
The Times-Journal wants to include your favorite family recipes for its annual Schoharie County cookbook.
This is the 23rd edition of "Hometown Cooking" that will feature recipes from T-J readers when it's published in November.
A flyer in this week's paper asks readers to submit recipes for the special edition.
"This is, by far, one of our most popular issues," said T-J Publisher Jim Poole. "People love sharing recipes, and we enjoy seeing what readers send in. And they're all local, which is even better."
Recipes can include appetizers, drinks and punch, breads, soups, casseroles and quiches, meat and fish, game, vegetables, side dishes, desserts and more.
Although Hometown Cooking will be out November 19--right before the holidays--recipes needn't focus on holiday cooking alone.
"The holidays are a time for special recipes, and we'd like some of those," Mr. Poole said. "But if you have a favorite summertime grilling recipe, that's great, too."
Recipes must be submitted to the T-J office by October 20.
One restriction is that readers may submit only three recipes, and they must be in different categories.
The flyer asks for a list of ingredients and instructions, and the recipes must be easy to read.
The flyer is also on the website, timesjournalonlin.com.
Readers should include a phone number, which won't be published, in case there are questions.
