Cuomo, Gibson win, but no election surprises here:

11/5/2014

Schoharie County voters bucked New York State trends by throwing their support behind Rick Astorino, the GOP candidate for governor, in yesterday's voting.
In unofficial state election returns, Democratic Governor Cuomo easily defeated Mr. Astorino with 53 percent of the vote.
In Schoharie County, however, Mr. Astorino was the winner, likely, in part, because of his opposition to the New York SAFE Act.
Locally, Mr. Astorino got 64 percent pf the vote, Governor Cuomo got 27 percent and Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins got 7.7 percent of the vote.
Schoharie County also re-elected GOP Congressman Chris Gibson, who kept his seat, over Democratic businessman Sean Eldridge.
