Police have little new information on a home invasion in Schoharie, more than 10 days after the break-in.
Police have been getting several leads and they have been following up on all of them, "but there is nothing solid at this time," on the November 1 break-in, according to Schoharie County Sheriff Tony Desmond.
The manhunt continues for the man who entered a Route 30 apartment in Schoharie through the front door on the morning of November 1.
Leads have been followed up and many people have been interviewed, but little is new, Sheriff Desmond said Monday.
"We will keep it open and keep working on it and hope for a break very soon," he added.
"I'm hoping someone will talk to someone" and it will get back to police.
Police spoke to everyone that there was a "reason to interview," he added.
The Sheriff's Office and State Police are investigating all possibilities, but it does not appear that the incident was a hoax, according to Sheriff Desmond.
"I don't believe it was a hoax," he added Monday morning. "We don't have anything to indicate it was a hoax."
Details from police have been limited, but one person was injured after a man entered an apartment in the home shortly before 9am on November 1.
The man left on foot in an unknown direction. The man is described as being white, approximately 5'6" to 5'8" tall, average to stocky build, facial hair, wearing a ski mask, and wearing a blue hoodie and black pants, according to police. No sketch has been released. Police received the description from the victim.
Three people were home at the time. No shots were fired and no weapon was reported as being displayed, Sheriff Desmond added.
One person was injured during the incident and was treated and released. No details about the person who was injured or the motive for the home invasion were released.
No one saw a vehicle and it appears that the man left on foot, unless a vehicle was waiting for him further up the road, the Sheriff added. A motorist spotted a man who fit the description walking north on Route 30A that morning.
The Sheriff's tip line is open and anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to call. The tip line is: (518) 295-2295.
