Christmas services on tap

Christmas Eve worship services at several Schoharie County churches are now in the final planning stages.
Bethany Lutheran Church, at 177 Church Street in Central Bridge, will offer two Christmas Eve candlelight worship services with the first one at 7:30 and the second at 11pm, both with the sacrament of Holy Communion. The Rev. Steffan Zehrfuhs will lead worship at both services.
Calvary Assembly of God will hold its Christmas Eve service at 7pm at its new site at 960 Mineral Springs Road, not far from the NY State Police substation.

The Catholic Community of St. Vincent de Paul will celebrate mass at 4 and 6pm on Christmas Eve for families with young children and at 9pm for families and adults. Mass on Christmas Day will start at 9am. The church's phone number is 234-2892.
Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 289 Main Street in Schoharie, will celebrate the birth of Christ at 9pm on Christmas Eve. The Rev. Royan Rodney will lead worship.
Cobleskill United Methodist Church, located on Chapel Street in Cobleskill, will hold a Christmas Eve service at 4pm for very young children and their families to "Celebrate the Christ Child for the Very Young."
A family-friendly candlelight service will start at 7pm with the story, candles and music.

The Lawyersville and Sharon Reformed Churches will have a combined service at 7pm on Christmas Eve at the Lawyersville church, located at 109 Philip Schuyler Road. The church's phone number is 234-2387. The Rev. Pacia Ferrell Vamvas will lead worship.
Fusion Community Church's identical one-hour Christmas Eve Candlelight Experiences, led by Pastor Andrew Fetter, will start at 5 and 6:30pm. The church is located at 375 North Grand Street.
Schoharie United Presbyterian Church, located at 314 Main Street in Schoharie, will a have a "Celtic Lessons and Carols Service" at 8:30pm. The Rev. Brandan Eddy is pastor.
St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, located at 121 Saint Christopher Place in Cobleskill, will have a Candlelight Christmas Eve Mass at 7pm, featuring special music by the choir. A birthday party for Jesus will follow the worship service, led by the Rev. Dr. Nina George-Hacker.
St. Mark's Lutheran Church will celebrate the Nativity with a Christmas Eve service at 7pm. The address of the church is 326 Main Street in Middleburgh. The Rev. Royan Rodney will lead worship.
