Schoharie County Master Gardener Volunteers will offer several educational events in the coming months to help local gardening enthusiasts prepare for the coming growing season.
"Berry Easy, Growing Fruit in Your Backyard", will offer insights on strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and grapes.
Wondering which varieties will work best in Schoharie County? Join them for how-to successfully grow common small fruits in your backyard led by Schoharie County Master Gardeners on Saturday, February 14 from 9:30-11am at the Extension Center, 173 South Grand Street, Cobleskill.
There is a $5 fee for each participant.
Master Gardeners will host a seed swap at the Middleburgh Library on Saturday, February 28 from 10:30-11:30am. Come share your labeled extra seeds (flower, vegetable, or herb), meet local gardeners, and share gardening tips.
You can participate even if you do not have any seeds to share. Envelopes and markers will be provided. There is no fee to participate or pre-registration required.
Herb gardening will be the topic of a workshop in March.
Learn how to grow, harvest, and make use of herbs that can be grown in Schoharie County.
This workshop will be held on Saturday, March 21, 9:30-11am at the Extension Center, 173 South Grand Street, Cobleskill. There is a $5 fee for each workshop participant.
