Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties will host a curriculum for farm transition planning called "Managing for Today and Tomorrow (MTT) - Succession, Estate, Business, and Retirement Planning for Farm and Ranch Women" beginning February 25.
Considered the next level to Annie's Project Agricultural Risk Management for Women in Agricultural, but not a prerequisite, MTT is a 15-hour course, three hours per day, running for five consecutive Wednesdays.
The final session is March 25; snow date is April 1.
All sessions run from noon-3pm. There is a charge.

The objective of the MTT curriculum is to help participants begin the process of moving forward on transition planning, utilizing area professionals to address business, succession, estate, and retirement planning, including a NY FarmNet consultant, a certified financial planner, a lender, and a communications specialist.
The MTT curriculum distinguishes itself from other transition planning programs by encouraging experiential activities with family or farm partners that will bring them significantly closer to developing a written plan.
Likewise, MTT embraces the Annie's Project program methodology that provides a safe haven, connections with colleagues, personal discovery, and guided intelligence.
