Carlisle trying again with Winter Festival
2/17/2015 |
Too much winter forced the postponement of Carlisle's Winter Festival on Sunday.
Originally planned for the 15th, the festival is now set for this Sunday, February 22, at 1pm at the town hall on Crommie Road.
Temperatures near zero and wind-chill values near -25 forced the change.
With better weather forecast for this Sunday, the festival will have indoor and outdoor events.
Sledding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowman building, horse-drawn wagon rides and a bonfire are some of the activities available.
There will be snacks and hot drinks as well as a few indoor crafts and a movie.
People should dress for the weather and bring sleds, snowshoes and skis, along with items for decorating a snowman.
The event is free and sponsored by the Carlisle Recreation Committee.
All are welcome.
