Run 4 the Hills raises $ for Carlisle, Hero Fund

One hundred and ninety nine-make that 200-runners and walkers took to the streets of Sharon Springs Saturday for the second annual Run 4 the Hills.
The event, organizer by Garth Roberts, raises money for local emergency responders as well as for his Hero Fund America, created in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing.
The challenging course travels the hilly back roads of Sharon, beginning and ending at the American Hotel, where there's also a post-race party.
Last year's race was capped at 150 runners; as Mr. Roberts was giving runners and walkers their final instructions Saturday, the 200th registration came in at just about the last minute.
Ryan Corbett posted Saturday's best time, 25:07, to win the event.
He was followed by last year's winner, Mark Stephenson, 25:31, and Joshua Tallent, 26:01.
The top three female runners were: Megan Kane, 30:11; Lea Schaffer, 33:01; and Sandi Tamowski, 34:02.
Carl Urrey was the first walker back, completing the course in 41:25.
