$cratch Off pay$ off for $haron woman

Winning millions in the New York Lottery still hasn't struck Audrey Waltimyer.
"When I wrap my head around it, I'll know what to do," the Sharon Springs woman said a few days after receiving a Lottery check for $2.757 million.
Ms. Waltimyer bought the Set for Life ticket at the Royal Food Mart on East Main Street, Cobleskill, on April 10.
The next day, she began to scratch off the ticket. The number '21' matched, with the notation 'Life' underneath it, and Ms. Waltimyer was a winner.
She won the top prize of $5 million and chose to take her prize in one lump sum of $4.166 million.
After withholdings, Ms. Waltimyer received the $2.757 million in a ceremony at the Royal Food Mart Wednesday.
Ms. Waltimyer said she's not a regular Lottery player.
"Money's too hard to come by," she said, laughing because it's not so hard to come by now.
"When I have the urge, I buy a couple of tickets."
After providing Ms. Waltimyer with millions, her winning ticket wasn't done. She continued scratching and won another $400.
"It was a very good ticket. I don't think it owes me anything," she said.
Having had a few days to think about what to do with her winnings, Ms. Waltimyer said she'll help family members and friends and do a little work on her house.
Ms. Waltimyer also looked at options for investing.
She plans to retire from her job at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
"I'll give up my job to someone who really needs it," she said.
And with more spare time, Ms. Waltimyer anticipates relaxing a bit.
"I have an old cane pole," she said. "I'll get some worms and go bass fishing."
